Getting fit : Our favorite method for getting lean!

We have brought in the New Year and along with the rest of America we will be on our own journey of getting fit! What is it about the New Year that provokes us to make all these strides to being a better us?! We think the concept of a “blank slate” is really the appeal. The notion that you can shake off the old, and proceed forward being the reinvented you is very appealing! So, we have shaken off our old (we wish we could shake off more than that, if ONLY IT WERE THAT EASY) and we want to share with you our FAVORITE method for getting lean!



We have been at the workout game for some time now. We all have different yet similar stories…. Had a baby. Gave birth to that said baby. Didn’t know what the heck kind of body that said baby left us with?? Had to figure out how to train the bodies we were left with. We’ve ALL been there, just searching for that magic thing that clicks! The thing   A. your new body responds to and B. you can stand doing for any length of time! Between the three of us we’ve tried a lot of methods. Camille was the typical cardio bunny, Cait was a skinny vegan for a stent and Lindsey her fair share of p90X. Nothing seemed to click until we became JESSIE’S GIRLS.


Jessie Hilgenberg is a athlete that we do makeup for and she truly changed our view on fitness. Jessie has created a multitude of programs that you can find on her site When you purchase on of her programs you are deamed a JESSIE’S GIRL! She has two programs that we have done MUSCLE BUILDING AND BIKINI BODY. Her programs run around $80 and come in an Ebook form (we in no way get a kick back from her, we just truly love her programs and want to share!)


Jessie’s ebooks are so extensive! This lady legit knows her stuff! They truly give you all the information you need to know to be successful!

  • They come jam packed with nutritional information and a structured plan. She bases her nutrition off of IIFYM (if it fits your macros). If you have never heard of this you can find check out this article here! The difference between her programs and other programs that base off of IIFYM is that she also concentrates on MICRO NUTRIENTS such as sugar, fiber, and sodium. THIS MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD AND TRULY THE REASON WE FEEL HER PROGRAMS PRODUCE RESULTS!
  • Her lifting philosophy is based off of weight progression. Each week you increase your weights (she explains how to do so properly) to promote muscle growth.
  • Manageable amounts of cardio. She incorporates HIIT (high intensity interval training) into her programs. She teaches you how to correctly do so and alternate ways perform it then just on a treadmill.
  • The Jessie’s girls facebook page is an amazing group of ladies that support, encourage AND answer every question you may have about working out/the program! The group is truly GOLD!
  • Her programs stand out above the rest because they are EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE! You can truly make her programs a lifestyle vs a diet! You can get strong and lean while eating the foods that fit with your lifestyle without feeling deprived. For goodness sake we can eat PIZZA and make it fit in our nutritional program!!! If that’t not your answer right there, we don’t know what is?!?!


Camille and I did BB last spring to prepare for a boudoir shoot we did for our husbands last July! We chose this program because we wanted to get as lean as possible for our upcoming shoot! The difference between muscle building and BB, is BB has a plyometrics day as well as higher reps throughout the program as whole. You also start out in a calorie deficit for the nutritional portion. We aren’t going to lie. The program is hard. Hard in a very good way! The plyo day is no JOKE! BUT if you are after some major results then this is the program for you. Our results are below!

We chose to do her MUSCLE BUILDING program this time around! We are looking to get lean and build TONS of muscle without having to start in a calorie deficit. You gotta eat to build those muscles girls! This is an awesome program if you are new to weight lifting as well! In an attempt to be totally transparent we wanted to share with you OUR BEFORE PICS!!! Not going to lie this is not our finest moment. We have been on a slippery slope of holiday foods, over indulgence and a pure lack of motivation to workout. BUT there is hope! We know what works and we just need to get back in the groove of doing it! The beauty of it for you guys IS we are all different shapes and sizes! We gain weight differently and lose it differently. You have some junk in your trunk, you may relate to Camille’s journey a bit more but if you are in a constant state muffin top like Lindsey follow her journey more! Cait is dealing with post baby body and you may relate to her more! Either way we will have a body type that relates to you!  PICS ARE BELOW!

We wanted to share our journey with you guys in hopes that if you have been searching and searching for just the right program, you can look no further! Also a tad selfishly, that if we put this out there it means we have to put our money where our mouths are! We ALL need accountability and support because losing weight is just DANG HARD! So Hop on our band wagon and lets do it together!

PS we are in no way fitness models..obvi nor are we trying to be! We just want to workout, feel good about our bodies and be able to do it in a way that’s a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! This by no means is turning into a fitness blog haha! BUT we will be posting our PHASE ONE, PHASE TWO AND FINAL RESULTS for getting lean with all of you along the way! The good the bad and the ugly!

    Go girls!!! I think we can all relate to the slippery slope of the holiday season. As a fitness & yoga instructor, working out isn’t my issue, but sugar is!!! Currently doing a sugar/junk/alcohol/caffeine free month- I hope it sets the tone for a good year. Can’t wait to follow the journey 🙂 you got this 💪🏼💪🏼

We are here to support and help, as we are always a work in progress and reaching our goals. We were so happy with our results, but we didn’t stay on the wagon after our program so we are back at it!
